Sandburg Students Give Back through "Christmas 4 Kids" at City of Hope


Sandburg Middle School, under the coordination of its ASB student leadership group, helped raise over $3000 for children at nearby City of Hope. CLICK HERE for a link to the article in Glendora City News. 

6th Annual GUSD Elementary Chess Tournament

The 6th Annual GUSD Chess tournament for students in grades K-5 occurred on December 6 at Sellers Elementary. Sponsored by The Chess Institute (an after school program that has served some GUSD schools for over 7 years), this tournament provided a chance for students to compete locally as individuals and as a school.  The winner of the traveling school trophy this year was Sellers Elementary.


GUSD 5th Graders Participate in YesCity Gov program

Mrs. Linthicum's 5th grade class conducts a mock city council meeting at the Glendora city chambers on December 2 as part of the YesCity Gov program created by Board member Cory Ellenson and Council member Judy Nelson. All 5th grade students in the district will take their turn debating the issues of cutting down the ficus trees down town or adding a dog park in Glendora this month.
