Red Ribbon Week

DEA officers arrived on the Sandburg Middle School campus in style on a visit to students as part of Red Ribbon Week activities.  All district schools will be participating in Red Ribbon Week activities the week of October 24-28.  The Red Ribbon Week celebration originated as the public’s response to the death of Drug enforcement Agent Enrique Camarena, who was murdered by drug traffickers in 1985.  What began as a commemoration of Agent Camarena’s death has developed into a year-round commitment to present a unified stand toward a drug-free nation.
